Ultimate Fishing Show at Suburban Collection Showplace in Novi
Take your school of little ones to Novi Jan. 10-13, 2013 to learn about the world of fishing and wrangle some new gear
If your family loves the outdoors, and they especially enjoy casting their fishing poles into a local lake or river, head to the Ultimate Fishing Show at Suburban Collection Showplace in Novi, visiting Jan. 10-13, 2013.
Kids and adults alike can learn about everything fishing – from the must-have gear to expert advice. Plus, there's a ton of stuff going on to entertain those fishing-frenzied kids.
Take the kids over to the fully stocked trout pond, stocked by the Michigan Bass Busters. Little fishermen and fisherwomen can try for their very own rainbow trout to take home.
Visit the Michigan B.A.S.S. Federation Nation and participate in their Casting Kids Competition. The free activity allows kids to cast provided reels into a jug to see who is the most accurate.
Want to know what it'd be like to wrestle a 40-pound salmon into a net? The Michigan Charter Boat Association will have its Virtual Fishing Simulator at the show so you and your kids can have the experience. If you have a high score, you could win a charter-fishing trip for the upcoming summer!
Still looking for more to do? Head to the Shots Galore Shooting Range where the kids can shoot rubber bullets at targets. Or, satisfy those growling tummies and check out the dining area complete with family entertainment.
Tickets are $10/adults, $4/ages 6-14, free/5 and under. Discount coupons are available online at the show's website, or at Wendy's, a press release notes. Note: Some activities at the show do cost extra.
Or, bring six canned goods or four pounds of non-perishable foods to donate and get in for free on Thursday. All food will go to the Michigan Sportsmen Against Hunger Drive for the Red Cross and other local food banks.
Dates and times for the show are as follows:
- Thursday: 3-9:30 p.m.
- Friday: 11 a.m.-9:30 p.m.
- Saturday: 10 a.m.-9 p.m.
- Sunday: 10 a.m.-5 p.m.
