Maker Faire Detroit is the ultimate DIY experience, showcasing the coolest creations in arts, crafts, science, technology and more. Creativity is king at this two-day crowd pleaser, which gives families the chance to see and learn about tons of unique inventions.

This interactive event features over 300 exhibiting makers, local and beyond, along with demos and workshops (kids, don't miss the chance to try on "monster shoes," an invention by i3 Detroit in Ferndale: They let you leave wacky chalk footprints as you walk around!). If you've never been, it's the perfect time to check out this do-it-yourself shebang.
