Fairy Tale Festival at the Edsel & Eleanor Ford House

Journey down the rabbit hole and into a magical world when the Fairy Tale Festival returns to the Edsel & Eleanor Ford House for the third year! This Grosse Pointe Shores landmark welcomes families for special Alice in Wonderland-themed entertainment on Saturday, June 29, 2013.
Come see your favorite characters from Alice in Wonderland; Alice herself will be there, along with the Mad Hatter, the Queen of Hearts and the White Rabbit. The festival boasts multi-cultural storytelling, story circles, craft making, live theatrical and musical performances and much more.
Check out the two enchanting exhibits: Almost Alice: Illustrations of Wonderland and Alice, Art & Artifact and Alice, Art & Artifact. For a modern twist on the classic novel by Lewis Caroll, stroll through the Almost Alice: Illustrations of Wonderland and Alice, Art & Artifact exhibit. Antique photos that have been edited by artist Maggie Taylor into "complex and surreal layered montages" that are sure to impress you. And, Alice, Art & Artifact features the work of students from the College for Creative Studies who have created their own interpretations of the story.
Don't be late for a very important date in the South Cottage – it's the Mad Hatter Tea Party, of course! Be sure to stop by the gardens to play croquet the like the Queen of Hearts. Take a peek at floats – made by The Parade Company – that will be on display, too.
Tickets for the Fairy Tale Festival are available in advance for $12 for ages 2-plus. They can also be purchased at the door for $15. Entry for children ages 2 and under is free.
The fairy-tale fun runs from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
