Wyandotte Street Art Fair
July 11-14, 2012
- Where: Downtown Wyandotte
- Times: 10 a.m.-9 p.m. Wednesday-Saturday
- Cost: Free
The quaint city does it up for its 51st year, featuring some 250 artists, the Clock Tower Crafters, a comic book area and vintage finds in "Retro Row." Check out the Live Green Fair here, too.
The Saline Celtic Festival
July 12-14, 2012
- Where: Mill Pond Park, 565 W. Bennett St., Saline
- Times: 5:30-11 p.m. Friday, 9 a.m.-11 p.m. Saturday
- Cost: $15/adults, $5/ages 13-17, free/12 and under, $10/Saturday after 8 p.m.
There's music and dance on three stages, including competitions for reels and jigs, plus everything from wool spinning to lace making to contact jousting. Sheepherding, too, with plenty of wee-folk activities.
Concert of Colors

Celebrating 20 years, this annual Detroit diversity blowout celebrates with a bevy of tunes, including live shows by George Clinton and Don Was, plus ethnic food, arts, crafts and family fun.
Fraser Lions Carnival

A carnival midway is the highlight for kids, but car and motorcycle shows on Saturday are parent favorites. Plenty of food and drink with fireworks on Sunday.
Michigan Elvisfest
July 13-14, 2012
- Where: Shady Riverside Park, Depot Town, near East Cross and North Huron streets, Ypsilanti
- Times: 5 p.m.-midnight Friday, noon-midnight Saturday (doors at 11 a.m.)
- Cost: $12/Friday, $22.50/Saturday, $30/two-day
Kingapalooza returns with 11 tribute artists. For kids, the FLY Children's Art Center from Ann Arbor brings crafts, Canton's Skatin Station is here – and catch the hula-hoop contest.
Detroit APBA Gold Cup

- Where: Along Detroit River, adjacent to Belle Isle, near Jefferson Avenue and Marina Drive
- Times: noon-7 p.m. Friday, 8 a.m.-5 p.m. Saturday, 9:30 a.m.-4:20 p.m. Sunday
- Cost: $15-$45/tickets
Watch 200 mph unlimited hydroplanes race for the cup – and check out the race boats, vintage racers and superlight inflatables before they hit the river.
Plymouth Art in the Park
