Trenton Mid-Summer Festival
July 13-15, 2012
- Where: Riverfront Business District, Trenton
- Times: 10 a.m.-11 p.m. Friday-Saturday, 11 a.m.-6 p.m. Sunday
- Cost: Free
Mitch Ryder kicks off the festivities Friday. Plus, catch 200 artists, Saturday kayak demos, a Kids' Corner "playmarket," co-ed volleyball, food and entertainment every couple of hours at this blowout.
Uncle Sam Jam

- Cost: Free
It's back for a second spin, complete with fireworks Friday, a laser light show Saturday, national music acts, vendors, banana races and other lures for families.
Warren's Art in the Park
July 14-15, 2012
- Where: Halmich Park, 13 Mile between Ryan and Dequindre roads, Warren
- Times: 10 a.m.-5 p.m. Saturday-Sunday
- Cost: Free
Look for more than 65 artists and exhibitors along with food booths, a DJ, kids' activities and hourly drawings for gift certificates.
Ragtime Street Fair

- Where: Greenfield Village, The Henry Ford, 20900 Oakwood Blvd., Dearborn
- Times: 9:30 a.m.-5 p.m. Saturday, 9:30 a.m.-9 p.m. Sunday
- Cost: Free with admission: $24/ages 13-61, $17.50/ages 6-12, free/ages 4 and under
American Jazz Age-style piano, dance, food and shows are on tap. Don't miss the Dixieland Jazz Parade and popular Cake Walk (you could "take the cake!").
Huron River Day Festival

Farmington Founders Festival

- Cost: Free
"Winter Wonderland" is the theme for Saturday's parade. Hit the "Go Green" area in Memorial Park Downtown, or let loose at the "Go PlayGround Kids Zone." Riley Park Crafters are here, too, plus music and an antique market.
PNC Roar on the River

- Cost: Free except Friday night part (for adults), which is $40
