Michigan Elvisfest at Riverside Park in Ypsilanti

Dust off your 'blue suede shoes' for this musical tribute to the King of Rock 'n' Roll, which returns for the 14th year, July 12-13, 2013

Get your dancing shoes ready because the Michigan Elvisfest returns to Riverside Park in Ypsilanti for a two-day celebration of the King of Rock 'n' Roll, July 12-13, 2013.

Elvis Presley fanatics of all ages can catch nine award-winning Elvis tribute artists – who will take the stage to perform songs like "Jailhouse Rock," "Suspicious Minds" and "Blue Suede Shoes." Tribute artists Leo Days and Stephen Kabakos are back by popular demand. Plus, the Change of Habit Tribute Band will be present to play music to accompany each artist's performance.

Kids will love the special events just for them on Saturday, which include a climbing wall, carnival games with prizes, face painting and much more.

A candlelight vigil will take place at 10:10 p.m. on Saturday to honor the Presley on the 35th anniversary of his death. Additional events on Saturday include Gospel hour where you can hear Elvis' favorite gospel songs from 2 until 3 p.m. – or browse through the classic car show.

Really want to get into the Elvisfest? Don your very own Elvis attire for the occasion.

Times for the Michigan Elvisfest are as follows:

  • Friday: 4 p.m.-midnight
  • Saturday: noon-midnight (doors open at 11 a.m.)

Tickets can be purchased at the gate. If you're visiting on Friday, tickets are $15 per person and on Saturday, they are $25 per person. Children ages 12 and under are free. Cash only, please.

Proceeds from this event benefit Ypsilanti Meals on Wheels and The Hope Clinic.
