PNC Presents the Roar on the River in Trenton

The Trenton Rotary club hosts this annual fest featuring fast boats, live music, a midway and more for families, July 19-21, 2013

Boat races on the Detroit River are the main event at the PNC Roar on the River at Elizabeth Park in Trenton, happening July 19-21, 2013. And adrenaline junkies have a front row seat to all the action – including Junior Hydros three-lap heats, Typhoon Tommy Jet Ski shows and the SST 45 and SST 200 World Championships.

A Taste of the Races kicks off the three-day festival on Friday. Adults can sample delicious selections from some of the best restaurants in the region. Plus, it's Pirate Night, so don your best pirate costumes, dance, enter contests and more – from 6 to 11 p.m.

Saturday's festivities begin with a pancake and sausage breakfast hosted by Boy Scout Troop 1721, going from 7 until 10 a.m. The fun continues for kids with a children's fun fair, which takes place 11 a.m.-5 p.m. Saturday and 11 a.m.-4 p.m. on Sunday.

Clowns, inflatables, rock climbing, live music and a midway keep the kids entertained between races and Jet Ski shows – both on Saturday and Sunday. And teens ages 16 and up have the chance to test drive a tunnel boat on Saturday at the OPC Racing School.

The event is free, but tickets to Friday night's festivities are $35 in advance and $40 at the door.

Event times are as follows:

  • Friday: 3 p.m.-midnight
  • Saturday: 7 a.m.-midnight
  • Sunday: 7 a.m.-5 p.m.

See the Metro Parent calendar listing for more on the 2013 PNC Roar on the River at Elizabeth Park in Trenton.
