If you need her expertise or advise after hours, you get it direct from her. She always personally follows up to make sure your children are doing well. She called me from the airport to make sure my son was feeling better before her plane took off for her vacation. To sum it up, she treats her patients as she would her own children. "First off, Dr. Schnur has been the one doctor I can go to with any concerns, and he is there to listen and provide answers. He is not only compassionate but knowledgable in things you might not see every day. During a positive test result with my daughter, he walked us through the hard times and called us after testing was done to find out results. He truly is the best doctor in a practice of AMAZING doctors, and I think many moms and dads agree."

I can also swap recipes and new products with her because my youngest and her grandchild both have allergies and asthma. All of the doctors working along with Dr. Sy at Downriver Pediatrics are also great. Dr. Sy actually listens to our concerns and answers any questions we may have, including our children's questions. "I have three children who are all patients of Dr. Talla's, and he's been our pediatrician for nine years. No matter what I need or when, Dr. Talla and his staff ALWAYS accommodate me – from call-in prescriptions to impromptu physical forms for sports. One thing I think is awesome is that he explains and helps parents fully understand a child's diagnosis. He listens attentively to parents' concerns, and he also makes a frightened child very comfortable while being examined. He has a very good heart, he's extremely courteous and loves caring for the health and well-being of all his patients!"

Nancy A. Treece, M.D.

10201 E. Jefferson Ave., Suite 201A, Detroit
313-824-3430

"My children went to her when they were kids and she was very good with them. And now she is my grandson's pediatric doctor. Her office staff is very good and friendly. She takes out the time to know her patients and the parents, as well as the staff. I feel like family every time I walk through the door. My kids love her and so does my grandson. He is scared of doctors, but always looking forward to seeing Dr. Treece. She is the only one I don't have to worry about trying to convince him it is for his own good. She is always asking about my children when she sees me. Dr. Treece is so good that she will always be my family doctor for as long as she is in practice. We love her. She goes beyond and above her duties to make sure that we are taken care of and is very excellent at what she does. I wouldn't trust anyone else to care for my family like I trust her. My children are now 32 and 27, and now their children are under her care."

Anuradha Vempati, M.D., F.A.A.P.

"Dr. Vempati has been my children's pediatrician since they were born. We couldn't be happier with her. She is kind, caring and is willing to listen to parents' concerns. She remembers details about my children's growth, development and health history, and truly cares about them. Her staff is amazing, and Monica (the RN) has always been helpful and answered all of my questions, from neurotic first-time mom questions to more serious questions. When I've spoken to her after hours, they've always called back to check on my child the next day. I would not take my children to anyone else!"

– Christina B., Chesterfield

Salvatore Ventimiglia, M.D., F.A.A.P.

Shelby Pediatrics Associates and Child Lung Center

586-532-0599

"Dr. Ventimiglia always takes the time to get to know your children. It makes him able to better care for your children and understand what is bothering them when they are sick. Both of my sons had serious food allergies and Dr. Ventimiglia took us seriously when others thought it was just sensitivities. We love Dr. Ventimiglia and highly recommend him to other parents!"

– Corinne L., Shelby Township

Halina Weidner-Czaja, M.D.

McLaren Macomb Clinton Township Pediatrics
16700 21 Mile Road, Suite 104 , Macomb Township

– Kelly O., Macomb

Nakia Williams, M.D.

Henry Ford Health System
3031 W. Grand Blvd., Detroit
800-653-6568

"My sons Bryce and Jayce love her – and not just because we have the same last name. She hands out books at the end of each visit, which is more than I can say for any pediatricians they have ever had. I love her because she is available. She makes the call to confirm their appointments. She does a thorough evaluation of each of my children; even though they are together, she addresses each of their needs seperately and accurately. She engages them by asking them questions to better view their wellness as a whole. She is never in a rush because I believe she times herself perfectly for all patients. My wait time d oesn't exist, and she actually is able to remember us out of all the families she services."

– Tequia, Decateur, Ga.

Susan L. Youngs, M.D.

Center for Exceptional Families (Oakwood)
18501 Rotunda Drive, Suite 200, Dearborn
313-996-1960

"Dr. Youngs is very knowledgable in her field. She not only meets the medical needs of her patients but she helps your entire family in any area you, your child and their siblings may need. Whether it is counseling, dietary, financial, therapies, etc., her office goes above and beyond any expectation you could ever have. She continues to help me with my son Albert, who has autism, where others gave me no hope for him. Albert is now excelling, making the 'A' honor roll again and becoming the seventh grader others told me he would never be. On a more personal note, Dr. Youngs truly loves her patients! You can see she puts her heart in it by the love she shows for 'her kids.' She goes out of her way to put on special carnivals, Christmas parties and events all throughout the year. Dr. Youngs makes each and every one of her patients feel like they are the only patient she is seeing that day. That is why Albert, his brothers Tyrus and Eli and myself love Dr. Youngs, because we know in her heart she loves us!"

– Ann S., Carleton

Psychology

Barbara A. Foley, Ph.D.

31275 Northwestern Highway, Suite 150, Farmington Hills
248-626-8899

"I am compelled to write this to inform others about Dr. Barbara Foley, a wonderful Farmington Hills psychologist who has helped our family in ways I never anticipated. I am an engineer for one of the auto companies, so details really matter to me. I sincerely believed that psychotherapy for our family was a ridiculous idea, even though it was recommended by our children's pediatrician, a trusted resource. I was the contact person for our appointments, and Dr. Foley was professional and courteous, promptly returned our inquiry phone call, and assured my wife and I that she scheduled appointments within 24 hours, which she did. She was skilled in guiding us through the complications in each of our divorces, our remarriage, the effect on our children of our different parenting styles, and how to negotiate our new family of six children. Dr. Foley's expertise in all these areas is notable, and she met both with us as a married couple, and with all eight of us as a family and addressed things like expectations, establishing communication guidelines and other issues. We now talk rather than scream about our issues, have regular family meetings to air our differences, and my wife and I have achieved the solid marriage we were searching for. I thank Dr. Foley wholeheartedly for helping us reach these goals. She deserves an A-plus as a doctor, and I would recommend her without hesitation. Thank you for the opportunity to write this about Dr. Foley. She truly deserves this honor."

– Gregory H., Commerce Township

"Ms. Laura (as my daughters call her) is an amazing woman who is thoughtful and caring. She has the great ability to address areas of concerns from both a professional psychological perspective, as well as a mother's point of view. I love that she's down to earth, patient, understanding and simply fabulous!"

– Pam G., Garden City

Speech and Language Pathology

Alisha Feldman, M.A., CCC-SLP

Kids in Motion
2636 S. Milford Road, Highland
248-684-9610

"Alisha has been instrumental in helping our son to learn to communicate. She has provided tips for us to use at home, as well. She makes herself available for consult if I ever have any questions after hours – for any concerns or questions that I may have."

– Heather B., Davisburg

Lynn Gallagher, M.A., CCC-SLP

Kids in Motion
2636 S. Milford Road, Highland
248-684-9610

"She has been a wonderful advocate for my son. I had been to another facility with my son and the answers they gave, I knew in my heart were wrong. Once I took my son to see Lynn, almost immediately, some of my questions about his development were being addressed. She goes above and beyond in her job. She truly cares about each child and family she sees and takes the time to answer any questions along the way. If it was not for Lynn and the interventions she provided, I am not sure where my son's speech development would be."

– Katie B., Fenton

Nancy R. Kaufman, M.A., CCC-SLP

Kaufman Children's Center
6625 Daly Road, West Bloomfield
248-737-3430

"She is a national and internationally known expert in her field of speech and language pathology, specifically with childhood apraxia of speech. My family traveled from Oklahoma with both of our daughters who were diagnosed with this disability. We could not find anyone in Oklahoma who would give us a diagnosis. Nancy not only gave us the diagnosis we needed but also provided intensive therapy, parent training and support. We have spent a total of four weeks with Nancy and her incredible staff. That was two years ago! We still keep in touch on a regular basis and are planning another trip to West Bloomfield this fall."

– Alison C., Watonga, Oklahoma
