Detroit International River Days returns in 2011 for another year of fun for parents and kids. It's happening from Thursday, June 23 to Sunday, June 26. The festival began five years back as the Detroit RiverFront Conservancy's effort to introduce the community to the newly transformed riverfront – and it's been a hit ever since!
There are so many things going on during the four-day event. Like what? Try Jet Ski demos, air dogs, sand sculptures, live shows on three stages, Pooch-a-Palooza Pet Walk and tons of grub, to name a few. Catch a one-hour Diamond Jack River Tours ride, too (fees apply). Or scope out the Highlander Sea Tall Ships for free – and don't miss the Meijer Kids Zone, offering free activities for the little ones.
And that's just a taste. There are dozens of activities going on. See you at the river!
