The 'Dirty Dozen' Fruits and Vegetables

Beware picking up this produce: These 12 foods are top offenders when it comes to pesticides! Consider going organic when it comes to this list.

Thinking of going organic but don't know where to start? Consider the produce on this list when grocery shopping for your family.

It's compiled by the Environmental Working Group (EWP). This nonprofit seeks to find important facts for consumers using readily available public information. EWP analyzed pesticide residue data from 89,000 tests collected by the USDA and the FDA. From that info, they created a roundup of the fruits and vegetables that contain the most pesticide residues. EWG recommends varying the produce you eat, rinsing all produce and buying organic when possible.

Wondering about those top 12? Check out the photo gallery below for the fruits and vegetables that made the cut!
