Bay-Rama Fishfly Festival in Downtown New Baltimore

The annual festivities return to this Macomb County city once again on June 18-22, 2014 for a weekend full of parades, pageants, fireworks and live entertainment

The Bay-Rama Fishfly Festival is flying in to downtown New Baltimore June 18-22, 2014 for a boatload of family fun – and it's the perfect way to kick off the first day of summer (Saturday, June 21!).

Celebrating its 50th anniversary, this year's event kicks off with the Queen's Pageant and Ping Pong Drop for the whole family to enjoy on Wednesday. Also, kids can enjoy a visit from Rosco the Clown and take part in the WII Just Dance party on Thursday.

But don't forget to stick around after the festivities end. Scope out a great viewing spot for the fabulous Fishfly fireworks display Thursday night, and dance to music from Top Dog Entertainment while you wait for the show to begin.

Participate in the annual pie, pizza and watermelon eating contests for ages 7 and up, and spend the day enjoying some fun carnival rides, too (but not necessarily in that order to avoid getting sick!). Also, Saturday is "Kids Day" for those 12 and under, so come enjoy all the fun with free games and prizes, a petting zoo and exciting bike raffle.

Don't miss the Cardboard Boat Regatta where prizes will be awarded for the "Best Built Boat," and attend the Queen's breakfast before the annual Bay-Rama Fishfly Festival parade on Sunday.

Spend some quality family time at this festival celebration. Times for the five-day event are as follows:

  • Wednesday: 3-11 p.m.
  • Thursday: 3 p.m.-12:30 a.m. (Fireworks night)
  • Friday: 3 p.m.-12:30 a.m.
  • Saturday: noon-12:30 a.m. (Kid's Day)
  • Sunday: noon-9 p.m. (parade begins at 1 p.m.)

Carnival rides are $20 for an all-day wristband (coupon for $3 off one wristband will be offered Wednesday only) and individual tickets will also be available for purchase throughout all five days. And for moms and dads, there will be a $2 cover charge for all adults over 21 who stay in the festival tent after 7 p.m. Thursday-Saturday.

See the Metro Parent listing for more on the 50th annual Bay-Rama Fishfly Festival in downtown New Baltimore.
