Grosse Pointe Farms Regatta and Fireworks

June 27-29, 2014

The 2014 regatta, sponsored by the Grosse Pointe Farms Boat Club, is jumping with live music, boat races, fireworks and plenty of fun activities for the entire family to enjoy. The Saturday fireworks display follows a free concert featuring Soul Provider Band.

Van Buren Township Fireworks

June 28, 2014

There will be a DJ, food and drink vendors, glow products for sale and a great fireworks display at dusk.

White Lake Fireworks

Various fundraising efforts support this spectacular two-barge display, helmed by the White Lake Citizens League. The theme of this year's Independence Day celebration is "Family," and local boaters are encouraged to reflect the theme in the local boat parade held prior to the fireworks display.

Grosse Pointe Woods Fireworks

Come for the live family-friendly music by Digital Vinyl, the spectacular sky show, or both! People tend to arrive early to mark their spots. Buy food from on-site vendors, too.

Lake Erie Metropark Fireworks

June 29, 2014

  • Time: 6 p.m./pre-fireworks events, 10 p.m./fireworks, Sunday

In addition to the fireworks display, you can catch some live music by Hidden Agenda from 6 to 9:30 p.m., or check out an open wave pool and other attractions at the park. Food items and novelty glow products will be available for purchase until the first fireworks go off.

Madison Heights Festival in the Park

There will be tons of music, games, and fun activities for kids to enjoy such as face painting, inflatables and more at this annual festival. Events and activities begin at 7 p.m., with a colorful firework display topping off the night at 10 p.m.

21st Annual Salute to America

July 2-5, 2014

  • Times: 6-10 p.m. Wednesday-Saturday
  • Address: Greenfield Village at The Henry Ford, 20900 Oakwood Blvd., Dearborn

This four-day celebration is chockfull of fun games and activities for kids, festive holiday food from The Henry Ford's award-winning culinary staff, music by Detroit Symphony Orchestra, the U.S. Army Field Band, Concert Band and Soldiers' Chorus and more. Stick around for the grand finale: The DSO playing Tchaikovsky's 1812 Overture, featuring authentic cannon fire and a spectacular fireworks display accompanied by live patriotic music.

Hudson Mills Metropark Fireworks

This Dexter fireworks display is at dusk, and beforehand, a DJ spins music in the activity center from 7 to 11 p.m. Why not make a day of it? Food sales start at 3 p.m. Park staff recommends arriving early; the park tends to hit capacity by 9 p.m.

Wolverine Lake Tiki Night and Fireworks

The Oakland County Boat Club has sponsored these fireworks for over 75 years. With yet another fantastic display by GenX Pyrotechnics, this year's celebration is sure not to disappoint.
