Fireworks, parades and more are in store for Independence Day! Celebrate the holiday at these 2012 festivals in metro Detroit, Ann Arbor and beyond.

Grosse Pointe Shores Fireworks
- Address: Private event at Grosse Pointe Yacht Club, 788 Lake Shore Drive, but fireworks may be viewable from the area

Holly Fireworks
- Address: Lakeside Park, Bush Lake, Holly
- Time: 10 p.m.
- Cost: Free
Huntington Woods Fireworks
- Address: Rackham Golf Course, Scotia and I-696
- Time: 10:05 p.m.
- Cost: Free
This annual community happens over the local golf course.
Northville Parade Celebration
- Address: Route goes from Griswold to Main Streets, Main to Wing and Wing to Cady; then Cady to First, First to Fairbrook and Fairbrook to Northville Downs; downtown Northville
- Time: 10 a.m.
- Cost: Free
Music, floats, clowns, children's characters, vintage and classic cars, a bike parade, pet parade and "even a few celebs" will all be on hand.
Ortonville Independence Day Fireworks
- Address: Brandon Middle School off M-15, Ortonville
- Time: Dusk
- Cost: Free
Parking available at Brandon High School, Harvey-Swanson Elementary School and Brandon Fletcher Intermediate School. Donations for the event cheerfully accepted!
Plymouth Good Old Fashioned Town Picnic
- Address: Township Park, 46640 Ann Arbor Trail, Plymouth
- Time: 10 a.m.-4 p.m.
- Cost: Free
Hot dogs, chips, pop and ice cream available for purchase, as well as games and live entertainment.
Trenton Independence Day Fireworks
- Address: Main viewing area is Rotary Park, but there's excellent viewing along the riverfront
- Time: Dusk
- Cost: Free
Entertainment abounds in this event that promises to be bigger than ever. Catch a patriotic concert by the Downriver Community Band beforehand at 8 p.m.
Westland Summer Festival
- Address: Westland City Hall Grounds, 36601 Ford Road, Westland
- Time: 4 p.m.-midnight Friday, noon-midnight June 30-July 1, 4 p.m.-midnight July 2-3, noon-midnight July 4
- Cost: Free, some events and activities may charge
Five days of fun conclude with rides, arts and crafts, food, exotic animals and more; the fireworks topper is tonight (July 4)!
Willow Metropark Fireworks
- Address: 17845 Savage Road, New Boston
- Time: 10 p.m.
- Cost: $5/vehicle, $10 after 5 p.m., free/with annual permit
Boogie Dynamite and Rick Lieder Band perform before the fireworks.

Detroit Tigers vs. Kansas City Royals Baseball Game Fireworks
- Address: Comerica Park, Detroit
- Time: Dusk
- Cost: Game ticket to enter park: $17-$85
Pepsi presents this family fun night with a "Country Night" theme. The game starts at 7:05 p.m. The Friday Night Fireworks is a tradition at home games.
Hazel Park Raceway Fireworks
- Address: Dequindre Road at 10 Mile Road, Hazel Park
- Time: About 11 p.m. (after last race)
- Cost: Free admission, parking
Before the big show, catch a little horse racing action (watch from the big windows of the on-site restaurant). Before the sky show, catch '50s free music by Moose & Da Sharks in the gazebo area. There's outdoor barbecue, too.
