June Fairs & Festivals in Southeast Michigan

With vacation season gearing up, parents and kids are raring to get outside. And luckily, southeast Michigan's June lineup of events delivers precisely that. Soak up the Detroit River breeze, buy some quirky art (or make a craft of your own), get your Motor City car fix filled, hop on a midway ride and, of course, sink your teeth into some of the tastiest fare for miles around, from German grub to sweet strawberries. Every weekend promises new adventures, so make way for June fun!

Macomb Fair & Expo

May 24-June 9, 2013

The midway fun includes fun rides, music, free shows, a banana derby, a petting zoo and lots more fun.

Milan Community Fair

May 30-June 1, 2013

It all started in 1949 as the Milan Free Fair, and the party hasn't let up yet. Swing by for artisans, tons of food and a parade Friday (6 p.m.), Backstreet CruiZers Thursday and Friday and a petting zoo plus fireworks over Ford Lake Friday. Saturday is kids' day!

Birmingham Village Fair

May 30-June 2, 2013

It's a classic community fair, celebrating its 50th anniversary with rides, food booths and carnival games.

Chevrolet Belle Isle Grand Prix

Grosse Ile IslandFest

This three-day fest has music, a carnival, island tours, airplane and helicopter rides, arts and craft activities, parade and food galore.

German American Festival

There's bratwurst, schnitzel and beer for the adults, and plenty of fun, games, raffles and even a "kinderparade" for the kids. Plenty of music, too!

Lyon Township Kite Festival

Mount Clemens Art Fair

A community staple in Macomb County for decades, this fair has art demonstrations, a kids' tent with make-and-take fun and live entertainment.

Art on the Grand

Chelsea Painters Art Fair

The Chelsea Painters celebrate 40 years with 25 artists displaying watercolors, acrylic, oil and pastels.

Art & Orchard Festival
