Chelsea Painters Art Fair
June 2-3, 2012

The Chelsea Painters celebrate 39 years with 25 artists displaying watercolors, acrylic, oil and pastels. Lots of hands-on activities for the little ones, too (noon-3 p.m.).
Art & Orchard Festival
June 7-10, 2012
- Where: Washington Community Park, Washington Township
- Times: 8 a.m.-10 p.m. Thursday, 8 a.m.-11 p.m. Friday, 7 a.m.-dusk Saturday, 7:30 a.m.-6 p.m. Sunday
- Cost: Free
An art fair, car show, 5K and carnival are all part of the fun. Taste of the Township is one of the highlights on Saturday, and don't miss that pancake breakfast on Sunday.
Melvindale Days
June 7-10, 2012
- Where: Melvindale Recreation Center
- Times: 4-10 p.m. Thursday-Friday, noon-10 p.m. Saturday-Sunday
- Cost: Free
The kids will have a great time with the carnival rides, chowing down on the vendor treats and family-oriented entertainment. The Sunday night fireworks always draw a crowd.
Rosedale June Day

For an 82nd year, this historic Detroit neighborhood hosts old-fashioned fun. The Run for the Roses starts the day early; after the 10 a.m. parade, have fun with plenty of midway games, pony rides, food, yoga and all-day entertainment.
Berkley Art Bash

- Where: 12 Mile Road from Wakefield Road to Tyler Avenue, downtown Berkley

The 11th annual bash boasts 100-plus artists selling their wares, plus food and lots of fun for kids.
Polka Festival

Dance the day away outdoors – or just kick back and enjoy the ethnic dancers put on a show. Includes concessions and plenty of Polish music.
