I have already pre-registered for this event, was I supposed to receive some kind of e-mail verification to present at the door?

When you registered for the event, you should have received an email confirmation. However, you do not need to bring any paperwork with you to the event. Metro Parent representatives will have a list of the names of people who pre-registered.
