Motor Muster at Greenfield Village in Dearborn

Vintage cars of all shapes and sizes are on display June 16-17, 2012 at this annual family favorite at The Henry Ford – plus music

Spend this Father's Day weekend checking out a bit of history at the 20th annual Motor Muster happening June 16-17, 2012 at The Henry Ford.

This event, which is a must-see for car enthusiasts, is free with admission into Greenfield Village. Tickets are $24 for adults, $22 for seniors over 62, $17.50 for kids – and children under the age of four get in free! Tickets can be purchased online, over the phone and at any admissions counter. Parking costs $5 per vehicle.

"There will be mass quantities of vintage automobiles ranging from years 1933 to 1976," says Jim Johnson, historian and senior manager of creative programs at The Henry Ford. "There will be classic muscle cars – like Corvettes, GTs and a wide range of Mustangs – as well as early compact cars, like Pacers and Gremlins."

All together, over 800 vehicles will be on display 9:30 a.m.-9 p.m. Saturday and 9:30-5 p.m. Sunday. You'll see commercial vehicles, classic cars and autos modeled after those from the Indianapolis 500, all over on the Village Green. Racecars will be by the Edison statue, bicycles and motorcycles will be on Main Street, and a military vehicle presentation happens near Cotswold Cottage.

The Greenfield Village Cruise happens 6-9 p.m. Saturday, where hundreds of cars travel through the streets of Greenfield Village.

In addition to the cars on display, you'll find nine different dramatic presentations and performances by The Greenfield Singers. There's a live re-creation of a World War II United Service Organization show and radio broadcast, too, which includes music and dancing. The show will take place on Saturday at 7 p.m.

And don't miss those all-day "Junior Driver's Ed" courses, too, which are perfect for kids. Little drivers can "try their feet" at pedaling along in reproduction pedal cars from the 1950s and '60s. That's near Roundhouse.

Be sure to wear comfortable clothes and shoes, and dress for the weather. Many of the activities will be held rain or shine, so be sure to bring rain gear, if necessary.
