Clay, Glass & Metal Show in Downtown Royal Oak

The annual Royal Oak event is sure to be hit again this year, June 14-15, 2014, and draw in all metro Detroit families who love hands-on artistry

There is nothing more unique and inventive than experiencing art in the making. And that's exactly what your family will get when you attend the Clay, Glass & Metal Show June 14-15, 2014 in downtown Royal Oak.

For 20 years now, Royal Oak residents and the surrounding area have gotten the opportunity to enjoy a multitude of displays and demonstrations showing how to make art out of some of the country's most popular elements. Bring your kids and let them explore art made by more than 125 of the finest artists from up to 15 different states.

Every year, the city welcomes more than a dozen professionals who demonstrate live clay pot throwing, glass blowing and metal working that will inspire your kids to use their imagination next time they are in art class. They can also take part in activities provided in the kids' area, like making Father's Day cards for dad.

In addition to the returning demonstrations, the city is also proud to announce blacksmithing and pewter work to the list this year. These presentations will include elaborate artwork using all three elements to add an even bigger sense of diversity and creativity to the show, as well as a variety of snack options to satisfy your hunger while you take a look around.

The show will take place on Washington Avenue and the event times are as follows:

  • Saturday: 10 a.m.-7 p.m.
  • Sunday: 11 a.m.-5 p.m.

All admission is free, however parking may have a small fee.
