MetroParent.com Wins Gold for Best Parenting Website!

Plus: Metro Parent magazine wins 11 awards for excellence

MetroParent.com was recognized as the best parenting website at the annual Parenting Publications of America awards reception held in Charlotte, N.C. on March 6, 2010.

Our site won the Gold award for Website General Excellence, beating large-market peers in cities including Chicago, Los Angeles, New York and Sydney, Australia.

A panel of judges assembled by Professor Daryl Moen of the esteemed University of Missouri School of Journalism had this to say about the website that serves southeast Michigan and beyond:

"Metro Parent.com has outstanding articles and resources for parents ... and a robust, interesting e-newsletter. It's easy to find the deep resources and interesting content the site specializes in."

The University of Missouri School of Journalism is the first college to teach journalism excellence. It was founded in 1908 and is considered one of the best schools of journalism in the country.

We are so excited to win this award – and wanted to share the news with our loyal visitors, since they are the ones who make MetroParent.com possible! Stay tuned to MetroParent.com for more additions and improvements. And please feel free to let us know what you think about MetroParent.com. Just email jelliott@metroparent.com.
