Shrine Circus at the Hazel Park Raceway

Have some family fun under the big top when this traveling group comes to town, March 21-31, 2013. Families will experience a world filled of wonder and enchantment!

Ladies and gentlemen, children of all ages: Feast your eyes on some of the world's greatest aerial acts, clown performances and daredevil stunts as you visit the Shrine Circus, which arrives at the Hazel Park Raceway March 21-31, 2013.

Your little ones can even ooh and ahh as they watch daring circus performers in the ring with lions, tigers and Luke – the amazing 14,000-pound elephant, as this historic circus – now in its 107th season – rolls through town.

But your youngsters don't just have the opportunity to see a variety of animals; they can interact with them, too! An hour before each show, circusgoers can visit the petting zoo, where they can ride a horse, elephant or camel. And if that's not enough to keep your tots occupied, they can also participate in circus games. Ride prices start at $7.

Established in 1906 in Detroit, the Shrine Circus boasts a line-up of experienced 10th generation Zerbini family performers. This year, the family will celebrate 250 consecutive years of entertaining circus audiences!

(The Shrine Circus reassures its audience that all animals are treated with proper care.)

Step right up and get your tickets to this spectacle online – see Metro Parent's listing for all that info. Prices range from $8 to $50.

Catch this big top adventure at the following times:

  • Thursday-Friday: 4 and 7:30 p.m.
  • Saturday: 10 a.m., 3 and 7:30 p.m.
  • Sunday: 1 and 5:30 p.m.

A must see family event of the year! This is one great circus under the big top at Hazel Park Raceway. We go to this event yearly and were lucky enough to see its performance in full this past thursday evening at 7:00p.m. on March 29,2012. This circus simply gets better and better every year. There isn't a bad seat in the house, we actually sit in the bleacher seats in the very last row and still have great seats! This year they have added a four wheeler show, a super bike acrobatics team, horses, dogs, elephants and clowns even funnier than last year. Want to make precious memories for your family, go to the Shrine Circus!
