Spring Home & Garden at the Suburban Collection Showplace

Novi gears up for spring March 30-April 1, 2012 with home improvement and gardening displays and tips, informational seminars and giveaways for families

Warm up your green thumb and dust off your painter's hat – it's home improvement season! Find everything you'll need to spruce up your pad this spring at the Spring Home & Garden show, in Novi March 30 to April 1, 2012 at the Suburban Collection Showplace.

Browse 25,000 square feet of home improvement and gardening exhibits, showcasing everything from alarm systems to kitchen gear to landscape models. Who knows? You may find inspiration for a new project. There's an indoor art fair, too, if you're looking to add a little extra color to your space.

Pick up tips from home improvement mavens and gardening gurus, too. Experts from the Southeast Michigan Nursery & Landscape Association will be on hand to field your toughest gardening questions, and you'll find seminars on topic like curb appeal, backyard grilling and sustainable landscape design in the Backyard Theater area (there's a link to full schedule of action on the show's website). And don't forget to take home some Easter flowers or bulbs, for sale at the show.

Need a break? Tykes can veg out at a special kids activity zone, stocked with coloring books, aprons and sunflower seed planting projects. A concession stand offers healthy sandwiches, pizza and drinks.

The show runs 2-9 p.m. Friday, 11 a.m.-9 p.m. Saturday and 11 a.m.-6 p.m. Sunday. Admission is $8 for adults and free for kids ages 12 and under.

A $1 discount coupon is also available on the show's website (see the Metro Parent listing for that) or at some area stores. Parking at the Suburban Collection Showplace costs $5.

Visit the Metro Parent listing to learn more about the 2012 Spring Home & Garden Show at Suburban Collection Showplace in Novi.
