Art Birmingham Fair and Festival in Shain Park

Art enthusiasts of all ages are welcome to browse, shop and celebrate at this Mother's Day weekend event, May 10-11, 2014, in Oakland County.

Whether you love art or having an aspiring artist in your household, the recently redesigned Shain Park is the place to be Mother's Day weekend, May 10-11, 2014, when Art Birmingham returns for a 33rd year.

Your family can peek at showcases from more than 150 artists – in photography, jewelry, mixed media, metals, wood and more. Browse and shop for one-of-a-kind creations from talented artists.

Got a little one with you? Stop by the youth art activities tent near Bates and Merrill streets to make a water bottle lantern for mom, grandma or any other special lady. This project is for ages 12 and under – and is free. Kids must be accompanied by an adult to participate.

While you're in the neighborhood, check out some of the many local shops and restaurants in the Birmingham Principal Shopping District.

Art Birmingham is free – unless, of course, you plan to purchase any of the artists' creations, or some food. Event times are as follows:

  • Saturday: 10 a.m.-6 p.m.
  • Sunday: 10 a.m.-5 p.m.

Art Birmingham, which was originally called the Birmingham Fine Art Festival, is produced by the Birmingham Bloomfield Art Center, in association with The Guild of Artists & Artisans.

For basic details on the 2014 Art Birmingham at Shain Park, see the Metro Parent listing.
