Chelsea Craft Fair and Live Green Home Show
Explore cool art, cars and, of course, family eco friendly education and activities May 19-20, 2012 at this big – free! – Washtenaw County event
Whether your heart is set on crafts, cars or going green, the Chelsea Craft Fair and Live Green Home Show, happening May 19-20, 2012, will have a little of it all.
You might recall this event from last year, when it debuted as the Chelsea Fine Art and Craft Fair. Revamping for its second year at the Chelsea Fairgrounds, it's adding a Live Green Home Show, Green Vehicle Expo and the Health and Wellness Expo to its exhibits. Whew. No wonder it's got wide appeal for parents and kids alike!
The show, which promises 120-plus different exhibits, starts at 10 a.m. on Saturday and goes until 6 p.m. On Sunday, the start time is noon – and things continue till 5 p.m. Admission into the fair, as well as parking, is free.
This year, the craft show will have exhibits featuring handcrafted paintings, prints, carvings, jewelry and other wearable art from 60 different artists.
The Live Green Home Show section features 100 speakers and exhibits; they'll give tips and sell products to help you live in a more environmentally friendly way.
Over at the Green Vehicle Showcase, you'll find hybrid, electric and other eco-kind cars. Also new this year: electronic recycling! Attendees can bring their old TVs, computers and monitors to the fairgrounds to be properly disposed of. Oh, and the Live Green area has a shoe drop-off, too: Tote along your family's gently worn shoes, and they'll be donated to charities in Africa.
Finally, the Health and Wellness Expo lets you ask health experts any questions you wish. It also presents information to learn more about living healthy – and the opportunity to purchase healthful products.
