Grab your crafting gear! Get creative over Mother's Day weekend with your family at the Great Lakes Mega Meet scrapbook convention at the Suburban Collection Showplace in Novi May 9-11, 2013.

The 14th annual event will feature 80 classes taught by instructors like Jill Yegerlehner of Jillbean Soup, Melissa Frances and Jennifer Low from Heartfelt Creations. Plus, there will be classes sponsored by Simply Stitched, Scrap Happy Ohio, Queen and Company and many more. There will be classes for all levels of experience, too.

At what's known as the Midwest's largest scrapbooking convention, scrapbook lovers will find over 70 exhibitors and new products. Plus, see demonstrations and partake in "make it and take it" booths.

Pre-registration is now closed, but no worries! Tickets can be purchased at the door for $10/person. Class prices vary from $14-$44/person. Class and crop tickets go on sale 8 a.m. Thursday at the Suburban Collection Showplace. Note: children over 10 must have their own ticket to enter classes, and infants and children under 10 aren't allowed in the workshops.

Dates and times for shopping and visiting the vendors are as follows:

  • Thursday: 10 a.m.-6 p.m.
  • Friday: 10 a.m.-6 p.m.
  • Saturday: 10 a.m.-5 p.m.

Classes have their own scheduled times.

Heads up, moms: Only umbrella strollers are allowed in the Great Lakes Mega Meet due to the crowds, and all strollers must have a child in it.
