Some of our most cherished holiday memories revolve around food. And when J. Baldwin was a boy, he loved being involved in the production of the meal, whether making the salad dressing, getting the turkey ready or putting mini-marshmallows on the sweet potatoes.
Now the owner American-cuisine restaurant J. Baldwin's in Clinton Township, he suggests this kid-friendly Waldorf salad as a way to fit that bill – and make a great addition to a traditional family feast. As an added bonus, it blends familiar tastes like apples and mayo with new flavors like curry powder and fresh mint.
"It's easier to teach kids how to make food that they already like than to try to have them make braised cabbage or something," Baldwin says.
