A Christmas Carol at Meadow Brook Theatre in Rochester

The classic holiday tale of mean-spirited Ebenezer Scrooge by Charles Dickens takes center stage in Oakland County Nov. 15-Dec. 22, 2013

Getting families in the Christmas spirit for over 30 years, Meadow Brook Theatre in Rochester is back at it with its 32nd annual production of A Christmas Carol, set to take stage select dates from Nov. 15 to Dec. 22, 2013.

Whether it's tradition or your family's first time, Meadow Brook Theatre's adaptation of this Charles Dickens classic is guaranteed to be an unforgettable experience for parents and children alike.

"A Christmas Carol is our gift to southeast Michigan. People come back year after year," Meadow Brook Theatre managing director Cheryl Marshall says in a press release. "Maybe they saw it 20 years ago with a school group and now want to share it with their children. It's a magical event," said

Starring Meadow Brook veteran Tom Mahard as Scrooge, the production includes over two dozen professional actors and two local children who have the honor of sharing the role of Tiny Tim.

Show times are as follows:

  • Tuesday (Dec. 17): 8 p.m.
  • Wednesday (Dec. 4): 2 p.m.
  • Wednesdays (Dec. 11 and 18): 2 and 8 p.m.
  • Thursdays (Dec. 5, 12 and 19): 8 p.m.
  • Fridays (Nov. 15, 22, 29, Dec. 6, 13 and 20): 8 p.m.
  • Saturdays (Nov. 16, 23, 30, Dec. 7, 14, 21): 2 and 6:30 p.m.
  • Sunday (Nov. 17): 2 p.m.
  • Sundays (Nov. 24, Dec. 1, 8, 14, 22): 2 and 6:30 p.m.

Tickets for this holiday favorite range from $18 to $41 – and for shows on Nov. 15-17 and Nov. 22-24, there are opportunities for families to purchase tickets at a discounted price! You can secure your tickets by calling the theater box office or purchasing online.
