Explore your way through nine black diamond trails with names like Thunderbolt, Glacier Gap and White Out at this ski spot that has a variety of runs for all skill levels. There are seven lifts and five towropes to get you to breezy slopes – or even mogul-dotted slopes that give your knees a workout.

Lift tickets at Boyne Mountain are also good at its sister ski area, Boyne Highlands. Between the two ski areas you can venture through 115 runs and 850 skiable acres. Boyne Mountain has made several updates for the 2012-2013 season including greater snowmaking capacity, an expanded tubing hill and much more.

South of Kalamazoo, this ski resort started out in 1960 under the name Little Switzerland. What began as a small operation has become a popular ski spot – even famed football quarterback Joe Montana learned to ski here! There are 11 runs to chose from and four towropes, along with two quad chairlifts and one triple. The entire area is lit for night skiing.
