Indoor & Outdoor Ice Skating Rinks in Southeast Michigan

Take the kids for a glide across the ice at one of these family friendly places in Macomb, Oakland, Washtenaw and Wayne counties.

It's time to lace up your skates for some family fun! Whether you want to experience a wonderland in the woods, or skate indoors to music and lights, bundle up and check out one of southeast Michigan's many ice skating rinks. Never set foot on the ice? No problem. There are programs available for skaters of all ages and skill levels. Want to play like Stevie Y? Many offer pick-up hockey, too. Some spots have holiday happenings and extended hours when the kids are on break – so check out their websites, or call to make sure you don't miss any frosty fun.

Ann Arbor Ice Cube

This sizeable rink is home to various figure skating competitions and dozens of adult hockey leagues. Dare to do a double lutz? Lessons are available through the Ann Arbor Figure Skating Club, or you and the fam can come for open skate.

Arctic Coliseum Arena

With 85,000 square feet of ice, it's no wonder there's always something going on at Arctic Coliseum. Along with skating, find a restaurant, pro shop and fitness center. Check the site for a complete schedule of learn-to-skate classes, drop-in hockey and special events, including DJ nights.

Arctic Edge Ice Arena

Home to Olympic pros, this arena caters to expert and beginning skaters alike. Learn to skate, teach your tot or drop-in for one of the adult hockey leagues. There are plenty of activities going on and two NHL-sized rinks available.

Dance and skate at this outdoor rink that includes plenty of special events – like Funky Frosty Fridays the first Friday of the month. Rock the bell-bottoms on '70s night or big hair on '80s night – and you might even win a prize. Check the website for additional events and school break skating times.
