Three Bears' Christmas at St. Dunstan's Theatre in Bloomfield Hills

This Oakland County community theater group performs a classic storybook tale with a holiday twist for kids and families Nov. 16-18, 2012

If you're looking for a great Christmas outing for the little ones, make your way to Bloomfield Hills for the St. Dunstan's Theatre Guild of Cranbrook's performance of The Three Bears' Christmas, happening Nov. 16-18, 2012.

The story goes like this: It's Christmas Eve, and Mama and Papa Bear are doing all they can to get Junior Bear to go to sleep. Santa needs to bring presents, and they're all in need of some quality hibernation time.

But each time they finish lulling Junior Bear to sleep – with whimsical bear-themed Christmas carols, of course – the darn doorbell rings! In walk Goldilocks, Mother Goose, Red Riding Hood and a very special surprise visitor.

Written by Michigan writer and actor Jake Zinke, this play includes audience interaction and is perfect for all ages: Organizers say it's "perfect for young children and the young at heart."

St. Dunstan's Theatre Guild of Cranbrook is an independent community theater organization that typically offers a special kids show like this during the winter months.

The ox office opens one hour before show time. Open seating starts a half hour before the show begins. There is free parking across the street or in the Christ Church Cranbrook parking lot, one block east of the theater.

General admission is $8 per person. Show times are as follows:

  • Nov. 16: 8 p.m.
  • Nov. 17: 11 a.m. and 1 and 3 p.m.
  • Nov. 18: 1 and 3 p.m.
