Get ready to snap, stack and build at the LEGO KidsFest, which comes to the Suburban Collection Showplace in Novi, Oct. 12-14, 2012.
This is the ultimate event for any LEGO fan, with tons of activities and events for all ages and skills. Spanning three acres of floor space, the fest has contests, games and impressive displays, including 40 life-size LEGO brick models of celebrities and famous figures. Be sure to bring a camera to capture some shots of your little one with these awesome brick models.
Professional LEGO Master Builders show off their stuff, too, and teach apprentice builders the fundamentals of design at the Master Builder Academy. Up to 130 kids ages 7 and up are welcome to attend these workshops, which typically last 35-40 minutes.
Meanwhile, the LEGO DUPLO area is a great place for younger children to explore their creativity and practice their plastic brick-laying skills.
Kids can jump and play in a huge pile of LEGO bricks – or build their own digital LEGO model as part of the Creation Nation, which lets them add their structure to a huge map of the United States.
The weekend includes five identical sessions. The first is 4-8:30 p.m. Friday. There are two sessions on both Saturday and Sunday. Choose from 9 a.m.-1:30 p.m. or 3-7:30 p.m.
Presale tickets are highly recommended. Prices are $18 for kids and seniors, $20 for adults and free for kids 2 and under.
