Live Green Fair in Ferndale
Come learn about innovative products and ideas for reducing your family's carbon footprint, Oct. 6-7, 2012
By being more aware of your family's impact on the environment, you can save money, improve your health and most importantly help save the planet for your children and generations to come.
But going green shouldn't stop at recycling plastic and paper. To learn up-to-date information and find innovative products for reducing your family's carbon footprint, visit the Live Green Fair in Ferndale, Oct. 6-7, 2012.
Projects you can do at home will be demonstrated, like rain barrels that collect rainwater for watering your plants and lawns, composting for gardeners and other organic lawn care plans.
The science buffs in your family will love the displays of green energy ideas that demonstrate how sources like solar, wind, and geothermal power work to create energy.
There will be kids' activities that focus on renewable and reusable resources – like a make your own Hula Hoop activity on Sunday.
All-natural home care and health products from different companies will be for sale. Plus, there will be food and candy vendors selling organic goods. Keep an eye out for free samples of organic kettle corn and roasted almonds.
Parents will also learn how to save money on energy bills by talking to home energy companies that specialize in efficient air and heating systems and super-insulated windows and doors.
Admission to the event is free, and times are as follows:
- Saturday: noon-7 p.m.
- Sunday: noon-5 p.m.
