Just about a week to go till those school bells start ringin'. A few jitters are normal – but when it comes to making great lunches, there's no need to worry. Cooking magazine Taste of Home offers an A+ list of back-to-school recipes – from staples like Schoolhouse Chili and Lunch-Box Handwiches to some sweet snacks, like Granola Banana Sticks and a yummy granola-Cheerios-M&M's mix.

Every year, Metro Parent holds its CoverKids contest to choose the lucky kids who will be featured on the covers of Metro Parent's flagship magazine and ancillaries. In 2010, a whopping 600 kids showed up to Great Lakes Crossing in Auburn Hills for their shot! These 30 kids turned our judges' heads, and were selected as our runners-up.
