DIY Street Fair in Ferndale

Downtown Ferndale hosts this three-day do-it-yourself fest that lets the whole family get down and crafty! The fun happens Sept. 16-18, 2011.

Everyone is looking for cool ways to exercise their creative energy – and the 2011 DIY Street Fair in Ferndale is the place to learn all about the DIY movement in southeast Michigan.

More than 100 vendors and exhibitors – along with live musical performances and a Kids Zone – are among the highlights of this free three-day festival, which happens Sept. 16-18, 2011. The Kids Zone includes street performers, puppet shows and hands-on DIY projects.

Times are as follows:

  • Friday: 5 p.m.-2 a.m.
  • Saturday: 11 a.m.-2 a.m.
  • Sunday: 11 a.m.-2 a.m.

Note: On Saturday and Sunday, the Kids Zone is open noon-6 p.m.

While you're in Ferndale, be sure to head across the street and visit the Funky Ferndale Art Fair, which features the work of 120 artists from 22 states, along with food and kids activities.
