Plymouth Fall Festival

Autumn is in the air! Celebrate a new season and support this Wayne County community Sept. 6-8, 2013, when this family favorite event is back in town.

Make plans for the first weekend of September: The Plymouth Fall Festival is just around the corner! The entire weekend of the festival – Sept. 6-8, 2013 – is a prime opportunity to see local crafters work their magic at their show, which takes place on Union Street. Support creative community members and what they like to do best each day of the festival until dusk.

General festival hours for 2013 are as follows:

  • Friday: noon-11 p.m.
  • Saturday: 7 a.m.-11 p.m.
  • Sunday: 10 a.m.-6 p.m.

Bingo is the big event on Friday: Join a pavilion full of excited festivalgoers to shout out your big win. Start the next morning right with a hearty stack of pancakes, made possible by the local branch of Kiwanis International. Breakfast costs $6 in advance and $7 at the door; get your flapjacks from 7 to 11:30 a.m. right across from Kellogg Park.

Also on Saturday: Bring your pet and show off your biggest, smallest or most unusual breed. Prizes also go to best-dressed cats and dogs, but all types of creatures are welcome to compete.

Don't miss live entertainment and tons of good eats at this year's festival, too, with vendors cooking up something special every evening. On Friday, try a little bit of everything at the Plymouth Taste Fest from 6 to 8 p.m. Tickets are $15 to taste food from over 20 different local restaurants.

Still hungry? Saturday is the seventh annual spaghetti dinner at Kellogg Park (4-6 p.m.). Dinner costs $7.50 for advance tickets, $9 at the door for adults, children 12 and under eat for free. The park also hosts the Plymouth Rotary Club's annual chicken barbecue on Sunday (11 a.m.-5 p.m.). The delicious dinner includes half a chicken, corn on the cob, a drink, a roll and a cookie for $10 in advance and $12 at the door.

And kids of all ages will love the festival's carnival, open every day of the celebration! Rides start running at 3 p.m. on Friday and 11 a.m. on the weekend; $25 wristbands are available for Sunday.

Oh, and don't forget: Saturday and Sunday you can also get your fill of classic autos at the Fall Festival Car Show. See plenty of oldies-but-goodies – and even enter your own to win a prize.
