Troy Family Daze at Zion Christian Church

This Oakland County tradition returns Sept. 11-14, 2014 and features contests, food, games and much more for families

Let your young scholars take a break from that homework – and head to Troy Family Daze on the grounds of Zion Christian Church for some family fun.

The annual shebang, which runs Sept. 11-14, 2014, has something for everyone in the family – from live entertainment to a kids' area to the fest's newest attraction: the zip line.

During the four-day festival, stop by the children's area to show off your acting skills as a family at the Adventure Theater. This interactive theater features a pirate island, galatic voyage and more for families. Plus, enjoy a visit with Rosco the Clown, Princess Caroline and more.

Kids can head over to the midway for giant rides and an adrenaline rush! Snag the special 10 rides for $10 coupon for 4-9 p.m. Thursday Sept. 11 and save a few bucks on the fun. If you're interested in ride wristbands, they are $25 per person.

Entertainment includes talent shows and contests, the Great Lakes Taiko Drummers (on Thursday) dance performances from Shannon Irish Dance Academy (on Friday), Lakeside Rock Band (on Saturday) and more. Then, check out the 25-30 minute fireworks display on Saturday at dusk. Your kids will love seeing one last fireworks display of the summer!

Hungry? Grab a bite to eat at one the many food vendors offering everything from Mexican cuisine to gourmet pretzels to corn dogs.

Admission to the event is $2 and times are as follows:

  • Thursday: 4-9 p.m.
  • Friday: 4-11 p.m.
  • Saturday: 11 a.m.-11 p.m.
  • Sunday: noon-9 p.m.
