Troy Family Daze at Zion Christian Church

This Oakland County tradition returns Sept. 12-15, 2013. Bring out the kids for rides, a petting zoo, tasty food, the Hometown Idol contest and more fun.

Let your young scholars take a break from that homework – and head to Troy Family Daze for some family fun. Troy Family Daze takes place at Zion Christian Church and runs Sept. 12-15, 2013.

Your kids will want to head over to the midway for giant rides and an adrenaline rush! Snag the special 10 rides for $10 coupon for 4-9 p.m. Thursday Sept. 12 and save a few bucks on the fun.

Be sure to take little ones to check out the Animal Oasis, complete with a farm animal petting zoo, camel rides, exotic animals and birds on display. There's a children's area featuring entertainment and crafts, too; this spot is geared towards the preschool and elementary school-aged crowd.

Troy Family Daze has been a tradition for 45 years now. So, to celebrate, there will be Old Tyme Games, featuring activities from the early years of the festival.

Do your kids love to perform? They can register for Hometown Idol or for the Talent Contest. Just be sure to fill out an application in advance.

Ooh and ahh: Check out the 25-30 minute fireworks display on Saturday at dusk. Your kids will love seeing one last fireworks display of the summer!

Hungry? Grab a bite to eat at one the many food vendors at this year's food fest. Sorrento's Pizza, Different Twist Pretzel and Mastro's Ice Cream are just a few of the delicious food options at this year's event.

Overall times for the event are as follows:

  • Thursday: 4-9 p.m.
  • Friday: 4-11 p.m.
  • Saturday: 11 a.m.-11 p.m.
  • Sunday: noon-9 p.m.
