Troy Family Daze at Zion Christian Church

The Oakland county favorite returns, Sept. 13-16, 2012, and features stage shows, food, games and more for the whole family!

School may be back in session, but there's still a glimmer of summertime at the Troy Family Daze event – hitting Zion Christian Church, Sept. 13-16, 2012.

The four-day shindig is jam-packed with fun for the entire family – from contests to carnival rides to cotton candy.

The carnival rides are back this year – and you can hop on all weekend long. Visiting on Thursday? Snag a $10 ride-10 coupon. Friday festival goers can purchase a ride bracelet for $20 – and on Saturday, the price is $25.

Do your kids love to perform and be the center of attention? Then, check out the talent show contests, which are a huge part of this year's festival. Simply fill out an application to participate. All talents are welcome.

Kids ages 9-11 perform at 12:30 p.m. on Saturday. The second and third groups perform at 2 and 3:30 p.m. – and are for ages 12-14 and 19-plus respectively. Sunday rounds out the contests with group four – ages 4-8 years – at 2 p.m. and group five – ages 15-18 years – at 2:30 p.m.

New this year: the scarecrow-making contest! Individuals, families and groups can compete in this contest for free (but it does require an application). Cash prizes will be given out to first, second and third place winners. First place wins $500, second place takes home $250 and third place gets $100. Festival organizers will provide framing and signage materials for each group or individual.

Additional contests and family activities include the cutest baby and toddler contest, parent youth games and fireworks.

Festival times are as follows:

  • Thursday: 4-9 p.m.
  • Friday: 4-11 p.m.
  • Saturday: 11 a.m.-11 p.m.
  • Sunday: 1-9 p.m.
