Drop-In Kids Summer Day Camps

Don't feel bad for waiting until the last minute! Several local summer camps are happy to accommodate drop-in campers for summer 2017.

Did you just realize you missed the deadline for summer day camp registration? Luckily, your child or children may have an opportunity to enroll in one of the camps below as a drop-in camper.

Take a look at this list of eight summer day camp options in metro Detroit that welcome unexpected campers. After you find the perfect fit for your child, call in advance to make sure room is still available and find out what’s involved in the registration process.  Beverly Hills Club

Children who are potty trained and ages 3-plus are able to stop by at Beverly Hills Club Day Camps. Drop-in is available for Junior Camp (3-6), Adventure Camp (5-plus) and Extreme Camp (9-13). There is an additional $5 walk-in/drop-in fee without advanced registration.

Camp Mirage

For children who are not registered for day camp, this location offers drop off service. There is no need to call ahead. Parents can drop off their kids any time after 12:30 p.m. as long as they pick them up before 6 p.m. The cost for pre- and post-camp care is $6.50/hour per child. The pre-camp programs run from 7-9 a.m. and after-camp runs from noon-6 p.m.

Canton Leisure Services

The Canton Activity Crew serves as a drop-in supervised playground program filled with themed activities, crafts and games. The program is geared toward children ages 5-15. The program is offered on Monday-Friday from 10 a.m.-1 p.m. and from 2-5 p.m. from June 19-Aug. 11, 2017.

City Camp

At City Camp, kids can attend every week, just one week or drop in for the day. The camp offers a variety of activity-based workshops and programs, fun themed days, sports, crafts and more. It is open to campers ages 4.5-12 for $25/day for drop-in.

Franklin Athletic Club

Does your child love tennis? If so, you can register him or her for the tennis camp and drop them in for either a half-day morning session from 9 a.m.-noon or afternoon session from 1-4 p.m. There is also the possibility of a full day from 9 a.m.-4 p.m. Tennis Aftercare is also available from 4-6 p.m. The Young Stars Tennis Camp is open to ages 5-10 and Junior Tennis Camp for ages 8-16. Campers can also enroll in half days or full days at the Fun and Games Camp, which offers Tiny Tot Camp (ages 2-3).

High Velocity Sports

High Velocity All-Sports Camp occurs Monday-Friday from June 19-Sept. 1, 2017. Half-day as well as full-day sessions are available for campers. Keep in mind that registrations on the day of camp are subject to a $10 fee. The program is open to Mini Campers (ages 3.5-5.5), Jr. Campers (ages 5-9) and Sr. Campers (ages 10-13).

Lake Forest Golf Club

The 2017 Junior Golf Summer Series teaches the fundamentals of golf along with different techniques and short game skills. The class for ages 8-16 meets from 9-10:30 a.m. The camp does offer drop-in opportunities for $25 per session. Camp dates are July 11, 13, 18, 20, 25 and 27, 2017 as well as August 1, 3, 8 and 10, 2017.

Troy Gymnastics

At this summer camp, drop-ins are welcome for half days ages 3-12 or full days for ages 4-12, space permitting. The camp includes themed weeks, games, crafts and more. Late registration fees will apply. It is recommended you call ahead to check availability.
