Looking for that perfect painting for your living room? Or maybe you’re a lover of elegant, handcrafted jewelry. Perhaps you just want to take the kids to experience a really cool, local art fest. Whatever you’re looking for, you’ll find it at Art Birmingham, which takes place May 9-10, 2015 at Shain Park, Birmingham.
Over 150 artists are displaying their creations along the streets of Oakland County’s downtown Birmingham. Take a stroll and view these unique pieces. A colorful glass bowl with potpourri will look fantastic on your coffee table, right? How about some clay dishes to display in your dining room cabinet? Host an at-home event and wow your guests with one-of-a-kind pieces.
While you’re in the downtown area, hit up a local restaurant or check out the shops. Make a day of it!
And for the 34th time, this event is for a good cause. It’s a fundraiser for the Birmingham Bloomfield Art Center, a non-profit art center. It’s free to attend the event, but bring cash or cards if you plan to purchase some artwork, jewelry or other items.
Times for this two-day event are as follows:
- Saturday: 10 a.m.-6 p.m.
- Sunday: 10 a.m.-5 p.m.
Parking is free for up to two hours on Saturday in all city decks. On Sunday, parking is free in nearby structures and meters.
