Let the celebration of your patriotism continue with Uncle Sam Jam, the festival famous for providing one of the biggest firework displays in southeast Michigan. The carnival, which takes place July 9-12, 2015, kicks off Thursday, Family Fun Day, when carnival ride wristbands are half off all day. The midway consists of more than 30 rides, including a roller coaster and water slide, accommodating all ages and thrill levels. Test your aim with the carnival games, and don’t miss the interactive displays and attractions.
This “State Fair Size” festival features Whispering Pines Mobile Zoo, Michigan’s largest mobile animal exhibit with farm and exotic animals found round the world, all weekend long. Come out and ride the zoo’s camels and get a unique photo opportunity. Then celebrate animal comedy and sportsmanship with the Banana Derby, which features Capuchin monkeys racing dogs like jockeys. The derby hosts multiple races and promotes audience participation.
Impress the kids with a ride in the Shell-Camino monster truck, on display every day of the festival.
Check out the live bands on the Budweiser Stage each night. Headliners typically begin 10 p.m. each night.
Take a break from carnival rides to check out the grand fireworks display on Friday, July 10. The show begins at dusk and can be seen from anywhere on the grounds.
