Some 300 featured artists will display their work in fiber, glass, jewelry, leather, metal, photo, wood art, prints, pottery, speed painting and much more. The first Chestnut Art Mart Indie Craft Fair, hosted by the Downriver Council for the Arts, will take place Friday and Saturday on Chestnut Street in front of the James DeSana Center for the Arts. Keep an eye out for “ART,” the Wyandotte Street Fair logo that gets reinterpreted by a fair-featured artist every year. Find “ART” and his dog, Pigment, hidden among the art and bring him to the information booth to win a “Find Art in Wyandotte” keepsake.

Visitors can enjoy an eccentric selection of entertainment on the Riverfront Stage. Headliners include Victor Peraino’s Kingdom Come on Wednesday, Mega ’80s playing Thursday, Larry Lee and Back in the Day on Friday and Hype on Saturday night.

Tackle those rumbling tummies and enjoy the tastes from more than 30 fair food vendors, or step into a downtown restaurant and indulge in a spicy Thai meal.

You won’t want to miss out on this artistic jungle of colorful, bright and striking exhibits.

The fest is free to the public 10 a.m.-9 p.m. – with entertainment until 11 p.m. on all days. The fun will stretch down Biddle Avenue, between Eureka and Oak streets in Wyandotte’s downtown area.
