Looking for some fist-pumping, face-painting fun? Families can enjoy rock bands and interactive activities on March 21, 2015 as the Royal Oak Optimist Club hosts the fourth annual Bestest Concert Ever at the Royal Oak Farmers Market.
The tot-friendly event features live concerts for children including a performance from the Candy Band, a local mom rock band. They play everything from punk covers to classical children’s music. Parents can also join in the action with performances from Tilted Axes and Evenin’ Gentlemen. Horse Cave Trio is performing, too, and all these kids concerts are sure to keep families entertained.
Swing by for face painting and get your hands immortalized in wax with Creative Arts Studios. Kids can then become a rock star by picking up and playing tons of instruments at the McCourts Musical Petting Zoo. Plus, stop by the Crazy Hair Salon before visiting the dress-up station.
Did you come last year? Well, here’s something new: Try gem mining with the Miner’s Den and find your new piece of gold or silver to show off.
After all the activity, don’t forget to fill your tummies with food and drinks from Detroit BBQ Company, Treat Dreams and more. Yummy! Mom and dad, grab some craft beers in cans from Millking It Productions.
The concert runs 5-8 p.m. on Saturday. Admission is $5 per person and 100 percent of the profits go to the Royal Oak Optimist Club.
