Note: The fireworks were originally supposed to take place at 10:06 p.m., but The Parade company announced that the fireworks will now take place at 9:06 p.m.
What is a better way to end a Monday than watching explosions in the sky at nightfall? Spectators come together at the Detroit Riverfront for another year of illuminating crackles and pops at the annual Ford Fireworks – Detroit’s beautiful fireworks display.
Guests of all ages look forward to this summertime tradition – now in its 57th year –and camp out downtown for hours to grab a good spot for the first big boom.
The Parade Company is excited to pump up Detroit with a pre-party fundraiser at the Rooftop Party on top the Miller Parking Garage. Tickets for this event, which usually sells out, are $250.
Free of charge, however, viewers can expect more than 10,000 pyrotechnic effects in just one evening – all in celebration of our nation’s freedom and those who serve. For a second year, Ford will also host Focus on Freedom, a program honoring more than 250 active and retired military veterans and their families with an up-close view of the fireworks.
Aside of the live entertainment including Fifty Amp Fuse, your family can also enjoy great food from Andiamo’s, a wide selection of drinks for adults and interactive games along the riverfront for kids. The fireworks begin at 9:06 p.m., so pack a cooler, snacks and some lawn chairs and arrive super early to be guaranteed a great viewing spot by the Detroit River.
