Looking for a great way to spend Memorial Day weekend? Well look no further than the annual Greater Rochester Heritage Days at Rochester Municipal Park, which takes place May 28-29, 2016 – rain or shine.
It’s fun for the whole family, complete with historical displays, lumberjack shows and a civil war encampment. Whether your family is filled with history lovers or not, this festival is the perfect way for kids to have fun while learning about one of metro Detroit’s most popular cities.
The kids will enjoy the live animals and a pioneer playground. Parents will enjoy the car show put on by the Detroit Lions Club and the Crafts Along the Creek show, both Saturday and Sunday. Catch the Great Lake Timber Show performance on Saturday and Sunday, too. This show is a hit with families each year.
Hungry? Food options include some festival favorites like Rochester Kiwanis hot dogs, Vi’s Polish Cuisine, Red Wood Grill and many more. New this year is the Fajita Fred’s Mexican food booth. And don’t forget dessert from Kona Shaved Ice.
Event times are as follows:
- Saturday: 11 a.m.-6 p.m.
- Sunday: 11 a.m.-5 p.m.
Admission to this event is free.
