Arts Beats & Eats in Downtown Royal Oak

This staple in the Michigan festival scene will load families up with tons of arts, live music and fun throughout Labor Day weekend, Aug. 29-Sept.1, 2014.

Looking for a fun way to bid summer adieu? Families, end this summer with a brush, bang and sizzle, at the Arts, Beats & Eats festival in downtown Royal Oak, Aug. 29-Sept 1, 2014 and experience all the culture and fun this annual shebang has to offer.

For 17 years, Arts, Beats & Eats has filled the streets of downtown Royal Oak with the sights, sounds and scents of artists, musicians and chefs from all around the world. Last year the festival attracted more than 355,000 visitors and raised $386,000 for local charities.

This year, the festival will offer more than 200 performances on 10 different stages, a Fine Arts Show and some of the finest local cuisine from around the world – including some from right here in metro Detroit.

Families will have the opportunity to enjoy the artwork, music and culinary creations, along with Ford Activation games, the Priority Health Zumbathon and, for kids, the DMC Children’s Hospital of Michigan Kid Zone.

The Kid Zone will be chalk full of activities for your kids including live kid-friendly performances, games, prizes, stuffed animal checkups and even a petting zoo; plus, kids will have the chance to see PANDA One, Michigan’s Pediatric and Neonatal Dedicated Ambulance up close on Friday!

Arts Beats & Eats happens in the downtown area at Main and Troy Streets in Royal Oak. Times are as follows:

  • Friday-Sunday: 11 a.m.-11p.m.
  • Monday: 11 a.m.- 9:30 p.m.

Admission is $3 before 3 p.m. or $5 after 3 p.m. Royal Oak parking meters will be closed during the event, but parking is available downtown for $15; look for the “Park for Parks” icon.
