Do your kids dream of becoming a scientist or physicist? Or are they big fans of the TV show Mythbusters? A circus of fun awaits them – and the entire family –July 26-27, 2014 as festivities of Maker Faire Detroit bring tons of invention and creativity to the Henry Ford Museum in Dearborn.
If you're looking for something specific, they've probably got it! Featuring more than 400 makers this year, the museum grounds will be packed with robotics, electronics, rockets, food, music, fashion, science and midway rides all rolled all into one.
Quite unusual? Yes. But too strange for fun? Not at all! Spend the day exploring with all the "do-it-yourselfers" and hands-on enthusiasts in your family, because imaginations are bound to run wild at this festival. There's also woodworking, arts and crafts, live music, kids activities and more.
Learn how to make QR codes, de-hack computers, create new high-tech radios from old ones and discover what happens when you mix Mentos with Coke (although most of us may already know!). And if that's not enough to get you fired up, watch an American Sewing Expo presentation or stick around for some 75-minute endurance and drag races.
There's so much to see and do at Maker Faire. Don't miss a chance to tinker around and get inspired for two whole days. Event times are as follows:
- Saturday, July 26: 9:30 a.m.-6 p.m.
- Sunday, July 27: 9:30 a.m.-6 p.m.
