Elvis himself might be gone, but his music lives on in the hearts of many. Introduce your children to the music of The King and all of the change he brought about this year at the 15th annual Elvisfest July 11-12, 2014 at Riverside Park in Ypsilanti.
This year marks the festival's 15th anniversary celebration. Festival goers are encouraged to dress up in Elvis attire or poodle skirts and can expect two days of the King's greatest hits performed by some of the most talented Elvis Presley tribute artists around including The Change of Habit Tribute Band, Ronny Craig, Leo Days, Matt King and many others.
On Saturday, celebrate the King's love of classic cars by checking out the classic car show, and check out Elvis' favorite Grammy-winning gospel songs during the Grammy Hour, starting at 2 p.m. A candlelight vigil commemorating his death will follow later that night.
There will also be tons of Elvis memorabilia, food, games, raffles and a kids corner, complete with a bounce-house, magic show and face painting, plus much, much more.
The event takes place at the following times:
- Friday: 5 p.m.- midnight
- Saturday: noon-midnight
Tickets prices at the gate are $15 on Friday or $25 on Saturday. Kids ages 12 and under get in free.
