There’s nothing better than making timeless memories with the ones you love. So, on Aug. 8-10, 2014, take a trip to the Milford Memories Summer Festival in Central Park.
Loaded with tons of activities and attractions, this festival has something for everyone in your family. Everything from a rock wall climbing to a basketball skills competition to a kids fishing tournament and a blind canoe race will get your adrenaline rushing.
And if that’s not enough activity for your youngster, have them take part in the Kids Triathlon Saturday afternoon, which includes swimming, biking and running. But keep your own tennis shoes nearby. If your kids are not all tuckered out form the triathlon, join them in a 5K and 10K 1 Mile Fun Run.
There will also be kids activities throughout the day and a teen activity tent at Leo’s Coney Island during the night. Some featured activities are a Hula Hoop contest, a dance competition and a Glow Dancing Suit in the street after sunset. While kids can take advantage of this fun hangout, mom and dad can swing by the beer tent and listen to live entertainment.
To top off the weekend, take a stroll through the Art in the Village and enjoy some delicious food from many great local vendors! And of course, stop by the Metro Parent table to make a craft with your kid!
Festival times are as follows:
- Friday: 10 a.m.-8 p.m.
- Saturday: 7:30 a.m.-7 p.m.
- Sunday: 7:30 a.m.-5 p.m.
Admission is free for all families. However, there might be a small fee for some event activities and contest participation. On-site parking is $10, but there will be free shuttle services to and from the park on all three days, as well.
