The Oakland County Fair, which takes place at the Oakland County Fairgrounds, is a classic. This nine-day event happening July 3-12, 2015, has something for everyone – from racing pigs to the Miracle of Birth Barn to games, rides and entertainment.
This nine-day fair has different activities and themes for each day so why not attend as many as you can!
The Oakland County Fair has everything from racing pigs to the Miracle of Birth Barn. Tons of games, rides, entertainment and live animals are in store. Come take part or watch grandstand packs in figure 8 races, rodeos and more.
Opening day includes a circus and lumberjack show, a safari petting zoo, rock carnival and concerts. A fireworks display closes out the night.
Dress in your best Americana apparel for the second day of the Oakland County Fair and sign up for the chess tournament at Ellis Barn. Bring the grandparents for senior day on July 6 for breakfast, bingo, Jeopardy and a beef show. Don’t forget your cameras because there is also Toddler Tuesday on July 7. Wee ones can run around in the Diaper Derby and get messy in the spaghetti and pie-eating contest – which should be a picture perfect moment.
The Oakland County Fair has something very cool for children with special needs: an entire day devoted to special needs-friendly activities on July 9. Children can go to circus performances, play with slime, ride through the carnival and enjoy karaoke.
This is just a taste of the offerings at this multi-day event!
Admission to the event is $10 for parking, $5 for walk-ins. Snag ride armbands for $16-$22 and hit the grandstands for $10 for adults, $5 for ages 6-14, free for ages 5 and under. Free for military personnel with ID, too.
The festival’s first event begins at 9 a.m. daily. End times vary.
