Richmond Area Good Old Days Festival in Downtown Richmond

Do you ever find yourself pining for the good ol' days? Here's your chance to relive them – and introduce 'em to your kids. Families head out for a celebration of the past, chock-full of fun, at the 51st annual Richmond Area Good Old Days Festival in downtown Richmond Sept. 4-7, 2014.

The festival kicks off Thursday evening with the Little Miss Richmond pageant on the main stage. Saturday's festivities include a children's parade, followed by a ping-pong blowout for kids 10 and under. And on Sunday, festivalgoers get a big treat when the parade, complete with music and floats, marches through town.

To top off all that fun, find games – including horseshoe and corn hole tournaments and outhouse races – a full midway carnival, demolition derby, figure 8 derby and petting zoo. Plus, there's an antique and vintage snowmobile show, classic and antique car show, historic buildings tours, fire truck ladder rides and a fire truck dunk tank. Not to mention, tons of great food and a beer tent!

On Saturday, be sure to bring the kiddos out early for the kids' games and a children's sidewalk chalk art contest, running noon-1:30 p.m.
