The events that make the warm weather months here so special are all of the unique art fairs in Michigan. For art lovers and families alike, Art on the Grand in downtown Farmington is one of the must-see fairs kicking off the season – and it’s back again this year, running June 6-7, 2015.

Stroll Grand River Avenue through downtown Farmington to see 100 artists from all across the country show and sell their work during the two-day event. Whether you enjoy paintings, pottery, photography, glass or other mediums, you’ll find the kind of art you like and discover new work, too.

Not only will mom and dad enjoy seeing art and shopping, but the kids will love this event, too. There will be hands-on art activities for kids, along with demonstrations. This year, the DIA Away, the Detroit Institute of Arts’ mobile classroom, will be at the event Saturday and Sunday 11 a.m.-5 p.m. welcoming guests of all ages.

Searching for grub? Find outdoor dining at the local restaurants – plus snacks like almonds and lemonade around the fair. The Farmington Farmers and Artisans Market will be 9 a.m.-2 p.m. Saturday, as well.

This year’s event runs 10 a.m.-7 p.m. Saturday, June 6 and 11 a.m.-5 p.m. Sunday, June 7. Entry is free, but some activities require a fee.
