Indulge your sweet tooth Saturday, Feb. 11, 2012 at the Chocolate Extravaganza in downtown Chelsea!
Over 30 businesses will be getting into the Valentine's Day spirit with family friendly activities, samples of chocolate treats and discounts on chocolate-themed merchandise.
The day starts with a hearty, free breakfast (with chocolate muffins, of course) from 8 to 11 a.m. at Chelsea First United Methodist Church. Then, head downtown for oodles of chocolate-y treats.
Bumbles Dry Goods offers cookie samples with recipes, and a free cookie cutter with purchase. The Garden Mill hosts decorative chocolate molding demonstrations. Need new boots? Muleskinner Boot Shop will have "chocolate" colored ones on sale.
Grab a chocolate-covered cherry at Cherry Optometry; then, help yourself to hot chocolate at the back door of Common Grill. If Mexican is more your style, drop by Reimco Building Co. for samples of Mexican hot chocolate and treats. And don't forget to visit the Chelsea Center for the Arts between 1 and 4 p.m. for a Valentine-themed craft.
Children's book author Peggy Grigowski, creator of The Sock Stealer series, is signing books at Just Imagine from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Kids can pick up a coloring page for her contest (the winning picture will be featured in her next book!).
Look for event posters in the window of participating businesses, or print the full brochure (download it from our listing) and follow the chocolate trail.
